Trust me, I get it. Family photos can be stressful.. but I also believe they don’t have to be. I understand the stress of getting your kids to smile & look at the camera, and I have the tricks up my sleeve to get that photo, but the photos you are going to love the most years from now are the moments that are organic real moments. So, my biggest piece of advice for maui family photos is embrace the chaos.
For nick and caila’s session with little teddy, she was not too keen on smiling towards me, so I very subtly directed them to play & meet teddy where she was at. I adore the memories we captured and we got the perfect mix of colors & light at the Andaz Maui. It was a bit windy (as maui tends to be a lot of times) so we started the session in a little grass area near-by to get those dreamy greens and a break from the windy beach. The wind tends to die a little just before sunset, so right when the light was perfect, we finished the last of the session on the beach. It was a short & sweet session with all the goodness.
