Joe + Julia: a surprise proposal @ the Ritz Carlton, Kapalua

I absolutely love capturing surprise proposals. I’ve been blessed to photograph quite a few here on Maui and the surrounding Hawaiian islands, and this particular plan is one of my favorites. The location is in west Maui @ Ironwoods, Kapalua. It’s a super popular photo location for all different types of shoots from proposals to elopements, and has both beach & cliffs. Luckily there’s a decent amount of hidden pockets, so you always feel a little sense of privacy, which is preferred for most proposals. I also love the pleasure of helping put together the “plan” for maui proposals. A pretty safe bet is suggesting going to watch sunset @ a cliffside/beach you heard about just before your dinner reservations @ Merriman’s. That’s exactly what Joe did. These two were so sweet and full of stoke for the rest of their maui engagement session & I adore the images we captured of such a huge milestone in their lives together.
